Sheerwood “ Shakey’s” Johnson loved ragtime music. Dreamed about having a place where his family and friends could get together, share some pizza and beer while listening- and often sing along-to favorite ragtime standards. So back in 1954 he scraped together his savings along with those of college friends, opened the first Shakey’s Pizza Parlor at the corner o 57th and “J” Streets in Sacramento CA.

 

 

Shakey’s Philippines has been the market leader in pizza segment of the local food service business since its inception. And Shakey’s continuing success was somehow already evident with the opening of the very first Shakey’s in the Phillippines. Eventually more discussions followed until Golden Pizza Inc. opened the first Shakey’s along Makati Avenue in March 15, 1975. Today, we have more than one hundred restaurant in key cities nationwide, including some the other hottest vacation spots in the Philippines; wherein it already has a presence, like Boracay, Baguio, Tagaytay, Batangas, Laguna, Cebu and Davao. Shakey’s Cebu opened its first branch in Mango Avenue on December 9, 1977, owned and managed by the Tan Group of Companies.
