REPORTS TO: Chief Executive Officer/Chief Operating Officer
Chief Dietitian oversees the management of the kitchen facility. The primary responsibilities of Chief Dietitian include managing daily food service operations. Chief Dietitian is also responsible for interacting and communicating with clients, understanding client health concerns and dietary requirements and ensuring food preparation follows strict health guidelines, among other duties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Managing daily food service operations.
Interacting with customers to ensure their satisfaction.
Organizing staff working schedules.
Carrying out inventory management.
Ensuring safe storage and preparation of food.
Establishing a budget and working within its confines.
Overall supervision both clinical and administrative aspects of the department
Responsible for ensuring proper handling, safety and sanitation of food preparation and serving of foods to patients and doctors.
Monitor meal service for quality, nutritionally balance and accuracy of regular and therapeutic diets.
Checks quality standard of purchased items, maintains record of purchases and cost keeping.
Graduated Bachelor’s Degree in Nutrition and Dietetics
Must have at least six (6) years of experience in the dietary service of the hospital, three (3) years of which should be of supervisory level in food service work.
Trained Diabetes Educator
Strong leadership skills and the ability to work unsupervised
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong moral and ethical code
Competency in Microsoft Office, and business management and presentation tools
Excellent administrative skills
Ability to keep a positive attitude in a fast-paced environment
