AREA SUPERVISOR

Summary:

Responsible for overseeing and coordinating the activities of a production team to ensure efficient and effective manufacturing processes. The role involves leadership, coordination, and a focus on achieving production goals.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Responsible for managing and coordinating the production activities in their designated area or department

• Ensure that production schedules are met and that products are manufactured according to quality standards and specifications.

• In charge of the production team, including hiring, training, and assigning tasks to production workers. They also monitor employee performance, provide feedback, and address any personnel issues that may arise.

• Work closely with production planners and managers to develop production schedules, allocate resources, and set production targets.

• Ensuring the quality of the products is a critical responsibility.

• Monitor production processes to identify and address any deviations from quality standards also conduct quality inspections and implement quality improvement initiatives.

• Responsible for enforcing safety protocols and ensuring that employees follow safety guidelines and use protective equipment.

• Conduct safety training and investigate accidents or incidents.

• Keeping accurate records of production data, including production output, quality metrics, and resource usage, is important.

• Responsible for generating reports and maintaining documentation for auditing and performance analysis.

• Ensure compliance with industry regulations, environmental standards, and labor laws is essential.

• Need to stay updated on relevant regulations and make sure their department complies with them.

Educational Background:

• A bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Psychology, HRM, Operations Management, or a related discipline is often preferred. Some industries may accept candidates with a high school diploma or an associate degree, especially if accompanied by substantial experience.

Knowledge Base:

• In-depth knowledge of the specific production processes and technologies relevant to the industry.

• Understanding of production planning, scheduling, and quality control.

• Familiarity with safety regulations and procedures in a manufacturing environment.

• Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.

Skills:

• Strong leadership and management skills to supervise and coordinate the activities of production teams.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effectively interacting with team members, other departments, and management.

• Problem-solving skills to address issues that may arise during the production process.

• Organizational skills to manage workflow, schedules, and resources efficiently.

Experience:

• Previous experience in a production or manufacturing environment is often required. Experience may be gained through roles such as a production supervisor, line leader, or a similar position.

• Familiarity with the specific products or processes within the industry is beneficial.

LANGUAGE SKILLS: Tagalog, Cebuano, Visayan, English

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

• Must be present in the office on work days. Unless otherwise assigned and or directed to you by the direct supervisor and/or employer to have work-related trips outside the office.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

• In the office as required otherwise in the field.
