DELIVERY CHECKER (SUPERVISORY POSITION)

 

Overview:

 

We are looking for a skilled and analytical individual to join our logistics team as a Delivery Checker (Supervisory Position). In this role, you will be responsible for optimizing truck loads to ensure efficient transportation of goods while minimizing costs and maximizing delivery performance. The ideal candidate will have strong problem-solving abilities, excellent communication skills, and a keen understanding of logistics principles.

 

Responsibilities:

  1. Load Planning: Utilize transportation management systems (TMS) and other planning tools to create efficient truck load plans based on factors such as shipment size, weight, destination, and delivery schedules.

  2. Route Optimization: Analyze delivery routes and transportation networks to optimize truck load assignments, minimize empty miles, and reduce fuel consumption. Consider factors such as traffic patterns, road conditions, and driver availability to maximize efficiency.

  3. Capacity Management: Monitor truck capacity and availability to ensure that loads are assigned to the most suitable vehicles. Coordinate with the Sales Dept. to optimize resource utilization and minimize idle time.

  4. Cost Analysis: Evaluate transportation costs and identify opportunities for cost savings through load consolidation, backhauls, and other optimization strategies.

  5. Communication: Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including warehouse staff, inventory staff, and sales representatives, to coordinate load planning activities and ensure alignment with business objectives. Communicate load plans and routing instructions to drivers in a clear and timely manner.

  6. Performance Monitoring: Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) such as on-time delivery, transit times, and load efficiency to assess the effectiveness of load planning strategies. Identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions as needed to enhance performance.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field; or equivalent work experience.

  • Proven experience in logistics, transportation, or supply chain management, with specific experience in load planning preferred.

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to analyze data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions.

  • Proficiency in transportation management systems (TMS) and other relevant software applications.

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to effectively interact with internal and external stakeholders.

  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

  • Attention to detail and accuracy with a focus on quality and continuous improvement.

  • Knowledge of transportation regulations, routing principles, and industry best practices.
